SCENARIOS - Group I

After two brainstorming sessions, we came up with a number of concepts. The next stage was to illustrate our concepts in a clearer/ more lucid scenario with sketches and key points. The following are few the concepts with sketches and explanations.

'Sarva' Wallah

Order groceries from your homes in no time at all and have it delivered at your doorstep. Cuts down the hassles of having to deal with several service provides and has one man - the sarva wallah taking care of all your needs and connected to you through a device, letting you place orders to him directly.

Naya wallah
Alerts the people in their homes through some device when the grocer's cart passes through the street. Speakers for calling out to the customers and display boards for advertisements on the cart. Pre-packed and checked vegetables/ milk/ eggs etc.,

Digital Post-Its

Based on post-its, these have a touch screen display with stylus which lets you write reminders and set alerts. When there are no alerts, the display reverts to a picture of your choice. Bluetooth/ USB options to upload images.

Travel Mate

As the name suggests, it's a device to aid travellers/ tourists who visit our country. Maps, airpots, railway stations, roads, hotels, audio info on monuments, music, camera, memory space for storing the pictures....an all encompassing device to aid the traveller. Also print the pictures taken during the trip or burn onto a CD.

Kitchentop

A kitchen grocery assistant. With RFID chips embedded underneath storage jars, the weights of items are tracked and user is alerted when they are low. Programmable items list and set weight levels also, for receiving alerts when the items go below the pre-set. Print grocery lists based on three levels of weights....moderate/ low/ empty.

Digital Ghungroo

A device to decode the vibrations caused by the feet thumping against the floor. The vibrations are converted to the merry jingle heard from the traditional jingle. Wireless head phones also allow the sounds to be audible only to the performer when necessary..during practice sessions maybe.

Bus stop Display

Tracking the position of route buses/ alerts when bus is nearing stop. Realtime maps for tracking the bus. Also find out routes tajen by specific buses (Colour coded). Two parts of the interface - tracking display + listing of buses and their routes/ fares. Interface to be compatible for blind people too.

Kid-Cam

A very simple polaroid camera for kids (ages 6+). Allows them to take pictures and also add text/ symbols below the picture. Build a picture library to enrich visual imagery and vocabulary. Also share the images with other Kid-cams through bluetooth.

Connekt

Bridging the gap betwee rural and urban school children. Provide for interactive learning and building good relations between connekt schools. A child friendly interface - touch screen/ webcam/ instant sharing of pictures and text files. Additional painting feature - Paint pods : touch finger to paint pod on screen and smear on the paint area on-screen to create coloured strokes.

Smart Desk

No more carrying a whole load of books to school. Feed all the content onto the Smart Desk with touchscreen display. Allows the children to read and also put in text. Controlled by the teacher and connected to the main board. Shows timetables and gives school news bulletins too.

Mobile Etiquette

Being harrassed by loud ringtones of the latest filmi numbers? Install this device in your workspace/ movie halls/ libraries/ hospitals to send all the moblies to vibratory or silent mode when in the range of the device.
